“Whether the wider world recognizes it or not, he ought to be considered an essential Americana master.”

About Me
Bio:
Every room asks a different question. For more than twenty-five years, Bobbo Byrnes has traveled the world listening for the answers.
Over the course of his career, Bobbo has performed in most U.S. states and fifteen countries, releasing eight band albums and twelve solo records. In 2016, he signed with a German record label, expanding his audience across Europe and opening the next chapter of his career. His music sits comfortably between folk, Americana, country, and the punk-rock spirit that first made him pick up a guitar.
Whether he's singing a song or telling a story between them, Bobbo's work is rooted in the belief that ordinary people lead extraordinary lives. That same perspective inspired his memoir, Too Many Miles: On the Road with a Rock & Roll Goodwill Ambassador, and continues through his writing, where chance encounters become unforgettable stories entrusted to his care.
A Bobbo Byrnes show is equal parts concert and conversation—songs, laughter, stories from the road, and the reminder that, despite everything, we still have more in common than what divides us.
New book: Too Many Miles: On the Road with an Unofficial Rock & Roll Goodwill Ambassador (2026)
New album: Too Many Miles (2026)
The album Too Many Miles is the companion piece to the book. Songs that bridge the gap between the stories and miles.
“Last time a Bobbo Byrnes album came my way I said I couldn't understand why he wasn't better known. Still can't! A lower-key acoustic outing this time, but still great tunes in a country-folk style: somewhere between Whiskeytown and Jason Isbell. SeaGreenNumber5 is a masterclass in songwriting.”
